Khalid is the Chief Executive Officer at Bluestone. Prior to founding Bluestone, Khalid had a distinguished career in Pakistan Army’s Medical Corps that spanned almost four decades. Among many success stories that marked Khalid’s career, some of the notable ones were in the procurement of medicines and electro-medical equipment. Khalid did away with an archaic procurement system in the Army and established, Central Planning and Monitoring Cell (“CPMC”) that incorporated modern concepts of inventory management. The new system ensured greater transparency, quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely provision. It has been operating successfully since 2009. Khalid also streamlined the provision of electromedical equipment by introducing a process that reduced lead time of roughly 2-4 years to 4 months. As Commanding Officer Level-II Pak Field Hospital in Liberia, Khalid earned profound admiration at UNMIL* and international level from Special Representative of the Secretary General UN, Force Commander UNMIL and President of Republic of Liberia. For his outstanding contributions to the Army Medical Corps and the country’s healthcare system, he was awarded Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military), which is one of the highest awards conferred by the State of Pakistan.
